American Gothic Parody! 7th grade

The 7th graders learned about the artist Grant Wood and his painting American Gothic.  We then learned about what a parody is.  Here are a few of their creations of a funny version of the American Gothic! 

5th Grade Abstract Roosters!

The 5th grade studied Pablo Picasso and we are creating oil pastel abstract  roosters!

Music, line and emotion!

Today the 4th grade discussed how lines, color and shape can show emotion. We also studied the abstract art of Wassily Kandinsky. We are gearing up for a large painting project! Can't wait to see what they create! Today was spent practicing drawing emotion and using music to drive our art! 

6th Grade Watercolor Trees!

We studied Canadian artist Emily Carr and were inspired to create expressive trees! They are turning out great! 

4th Grade fun!

Time flies! I've been meaning to catch up on blog entries! We are reviewing the Elements of Art before our mid year assessment! The students had fun working in pairs and working on their concept maps!
